FAQ

blog:

when did you start the blog?

Oct 2009

are you in culinary school?

No. My only encounter with culinary school was attending an evening one time cooking class. I have looked into it but currently have no immediate plans to attend.

who eats what you make?

My family is typically my main guinea pigs, along with myself. During family parties, I often cook at least one thing so they get to taste as well. Other than that, I haven’t really cooked for anyone else. I keep hoping to host a dinner party with my friends.

what’s been your favourite creation?

I think my favourite thing I’ve ever made thus far would probably be Beef Braised Short Ribs just because I love slow cooked, tender meat. Definitely would make the changes suggested in the post but overall it was a unique cooking experience.

what’s your cooking style?

To be honest, it’s just ‘go with the flow, whatever tastes good’ attitude. I’m a big fan of recipes but only as a starting guideline. After that, I get lost in the sprinkling, adding, tossing, melting and mixing of ingredients. Freshness and health is also a big goal these days. Basic, simple, love-inspired cooking is what makes the world go round.

can i use your photo/use one of your recipes for my blog?

You’re more than welcome to use any recipe found on the site and repost it on your own personal page. I ask that you please include me as a source and link back to my blog post.
As for photos, please contact me at ubiquitousfoodcravings (at) hotmail (dot) com before using any of my photography. My photos are not meant for commercial distribution without my consent.

who is your favourite chef?

Currently my favourite chef is Jamie Oliver and his show 30 minute meals on Food Network. He makes food so effortless and simple and healthy. Love his enthusiasm and go with the flow kind of cooking.

Another favourite is Anthony Bourdain but primarily for his culinary travels. He’s an honest and passionate lover of food.

I’m in my early twenties

I am born Filipino but raised Canadian.
